This year, one round of funding will be offered, with three distinct grant types available: Australian Design Grants, Design Audio Grants and an International Research Grant. A general checklist before applying for a grant ...

• Read the guidelines:
  The guidelines are designed assist you through the application form and assessment criteria. Save time, read the guidelines first.
• Follow instructions throughout the application form:
  Prompts are provided throughout the form to help you answer each question accurately and within any character limits. We recommend drafting your responses in a Word document before completing the online form. This allows you to check your responses, stay within the limits, and ensure you're satisfied before submitting.
• Collaborate:
  The assessors love to see projects where you have partnered with local organisations, council and businesses where appropriate.
• Your contributions:
  Providing a financial contribution towards a project shows assessors that the project is so important to you that you’ll put as much as you can towards it before asking us. And always include in-kind contributions e.g. use of your own equipment, volunteer time, etc.
• Budgeting:
  Make sure your budget adds up – assessors are not filled with confidence if you can’t add up your budget correctly.
• Submit your application on time:
  Plan to submit your application two weeks before the deadline to allow for any unforeseen circumstances. Have someone else review your application before submission, double check you have answered all questions and included all required attachments.
