RMIT Culture, the RMIT School of Architecture & Urban Design and the Swayn Gallery of Australian Design invite you to celebrate the opening of Deep Time Real Time: The 2025 Alastair Swayn Legacy Exhibition on Thursday 27 February at 6pm.
Exploring design’s relationship to planetary systems through two opposing time scales – ‘deep time’ and ‘real-time’ – this exhibition features an interactive structure designed by architects Simulaa containing geological and material samples and contributions from researchers working across various scientific fields, alongside time-based creative works curated through the lens of ecology, energy and technology.
Deep Time Real Time features creative works and research from Fayen d’Evie, Stuart Geddes and Žiga Testen, Alicia Frankovich, Emma Jackson, Farzin Lotfi-Jam, Nicholas Mangan and Cameron Allan McKean, Joel Sherwood Spring and Simulaa, with creative direction by Fleur Watson and co-curated by André Bonnice, Anna Jankovic (RMIT Architecture) and Fleur Watson (RMIT Interior Design).
RMIT Design Hub Gallery is located at Level 2, Building 100, RMIT University.
