Alastair Swayn AO was committed to fostering talent and supporting education in the field of design and architecture. The Masters Research Grant continues his legacy.
The award ceremony was held at the University of Canberra on 30 April 2025, with Chris Steel MLA, Treasurer and Minister for Planning and Sustainable Development, and the Honourable Bill Shorten, Vice-Chancellor of the University, officiating. Foundation board members and staff were in attendance, along with the ACT Government Architect Catherine Townsend, representatives of the ACT Government, and staff and students from the University of Canberra.
