Alastair Swayn Foundation and The Swayn Gallery Of Australian Design Farewell Susie Britt
The Alastair Swayn Foundation (ASF) and The Swayn Gallery of Australian Design (The Swayn) announce Susie Britt’s farewell as Grants and Engagement Manager of the ASF and The Swayn.
Susie was appointed as the inaugural Foundation Manager in 2020, and later appointed as the inaugural Grants and Engagement Manager in 2022. Susie was integral to launching and managing the nascent ASF grants program in April 2020, that has since grown significantly in scale and reach, including to international research grants and audio content focused on the key charitable objectives of the ASF that support knowledge, research and education of all things comprising Australian design. She has been fundamental to supporting the achievement of numerous projects and initiatives including major collaborations and partnerships such as that between The Swayn and the National Museum of Australia, the University of Canberra and the ACT Government.
Susie’s personable nature and collaborative approach has resulted in the advancement of the ASF and The Swayn, which has led to the broader Australian design community’s awareness of the ASF and The Swayn, and its mission to promote and to support education in architecture, design and technology.
The ASF and The Swayn Boards express their appreciation of Susie’s valued contribution to the realisation of the vision of the ASF’s and The Swayn’s founder, Alastair Swayn AO, and wish her every success in her future endeavours.
We are also pleased to introduce Laarni Balila, as Acting Grants and Engagement Manager, who will manage and facilitate all matters related to the grants program and our collaborations and partnerships in the interim period while recruitment for the position of Grants and Engagement Manager is advertised in the near future.
