It is with deep sadness that the Alastair Swayn Foundation acknowledges the passing of Terry Snow AM, a visionary entrepreneur, business leader, and philanthropist. His contributions have left an indelible mark on Canberra, and beyond.
Alastair Swayn and Terry Snow shared a profound professional relationship, collaborating on numerous significant projects. Alastair and Terry began working together in the late-1980s when Alastair designed a hangar for Capital Jet at the Canberra Airport. This partnership continued with the design and development of several buildings in the newly established Brindabella Business Park and culminated in the master plan that guided the development of the whole airport precinct. The partnership was a testament to their shared vision and commitment to excellence in design and development. In Terry’s words, it became “the best small airport in Australia”. Alastair also designed the Snow family home at Willinga Park.
Through his numerous philanthropic endeavours, including his substantial support for educational and cultural institutions, Terry Snow has inspired countless individuals and made a profound difference in many lives.
Graham Humphries, Chairman of the Alastair Swayn Foundation, acknowledged Terry’s unwavering commitment to bold architectural design and development, a legacy that will continue to influence and inspire future generations.
“Terry was a remarkably community-minded achiever. Average was never in his vocabulary; the best was always his goal. He will be sadly missed”, he said.
On behalf of the Alastair Swayn Foundation, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Terry Snow’s family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time. His memory will live on through the enduring impact of his work, the lives he has touched, and through the Snow Foundation.
