Australia is in a state of radical transformation with the state of the workplace in flux. Progress and innovation in this space outlay an exciting time ahead in terms of the physical transformation of these spaces and the wellness and engagement impacts.
As workers in these environments, it is easy to identify challenges throughout this transformation as they emerge. Economic and market conditions impart constraints to the individual needs of workers; instability trends along with issues with worker engagement, present a diverse outlook for workers. These challenges are amplified for people of First Nations’ backgrounds.
The project is intended to define a set of preliminary principles to encourage the next evolution of Australian workplace design and practice towards a more conscious and inclusive future. This research investigates Indigenous approaches to working; collaboration in working environments, and the structure of working organisations in themselves to define a set of preliminary principles to encourage the next evolution of Australian workplace design and practice.
